Recovery / Life Balance

Often people are fearful that if they take the next step towards treatment, they will have to miss work or neglect family responsibilities. We know this is critical to your decision making process. That’s why we are offering comprehensive telehealth treatment including:

  • Online group therapy and education

  • Individual sessions conducted via telehealth or in-person

Kindness Works

The addiction treatment industry has been slow to change and often uses outdated techniques rooted in shame. Not that treatment providers intend to harm. They are simply relying on techniques developed in the early to mid 20th century by The Betty Ford Foundation and influential peer-based recovery groups. We understand that the historic lack of innovation in addiction treatment is a result of the system devaluing our population. With the opioid epidemic, research is catching up. We now have new scientific evidence that proves a change in approach produces better results. We also know that interventions rooted in shame and confrontation reduce positive outcomes.

Example:

  • Traditional treatment centers might confront a person struggling with change by labeling them as “resistant” or in “denial.” We now know that pressure is usually to blame for resistance.

  • Modern approaches understand that ambivalence is a normal part of the change process, a symptom of substance-affected neurobiology, and best managed with interventions that increase a person’s internal motivation.

Kind Recovery is committed to providing services that eliminate former traditions of power and distrust, hence our name. As an addiction treatment center, we are proud to be at the forefront of providing modern, evidence-based services that recovering people and their families deserve.
